About Us

Our Instructors have been training in American Karate since 1996. We pride ourselves in constantly training and incorporating other styles of martial arts into our program. We take what we do very seriously, but also provide both juniors, teens, and adults a fun learning environment to train in.

Ms. Freeman is our Director and Head Instructor of Weekley Community Center, Steve Radack Community Center, and the George Bush Community Center. She began her training under Hill Country Karate in New Braunfels, Tx in 2007. She earned her Black Belt under Director Nick Smith in 2011 and has been an instructor ever since. Ms. Freeman began teaching in Cypress in 2015.

Mr. Anderwald is our Head Instructor at Mendenhall Community Center and West University Place Recreation Center. Mr. Anderwald also began his martial arts journey with Hill Country Karate in 2007. Mr. Anderwald earned his Black Belt under Ms. Freeman in 2019.

Mr. Puma is our Head Instructor at Meadows Place Community Center. Mr. Puma is a 5th Level Black Belt and has been teaching classes since 1997.

Mr. Van Avery is one of our Assistant Black Belt Instructors at Meadows Place Community Center. Mr. Van Avery is a 3rd Level Black Belt in American Karate and holds Black Belts in other styles of Martial Arts.

Mr. Henry Rose is our Head Instructor at Hockley Community Center and our Fitness Coach. Mr. Rose is a 2nd Level Black Belt in American Karate and received his Black Belt under Ms. Freeman in 2022.

Mrs. Nikki Rose is our Head Instructor at Hockley Community Center. Mrs. Rose is a 2nd Level Black Belt in American Karate and received her Black Belt under Ms. Freeman in 2022.
